DAY 4

Day 4: Living By Faith

How would you define faith?

The finite mind cannot calculate “the glorious wealth of this mystery” (Col 1:27). You see, mystery doesn’t diminish reality. As for substance assumed as the truest evidence of existence. Paul says further in Colossians that the observances of religious devotion according to the Mosaic Law are “a shadow of what was to come; the substance is Christ” (Col 2:17). You can put your hand on your chest and feel your heart pumping (go ahead and try it), and yet nothing is more alive in you at this moment than the Spirit of Christ. Indeed, nothing is of greater substance.

Paul writes in the second half of Galatians 2:20, “who loved me and gave himself for me.” You lively believe, based on John 3:16, that God so loved the world. You almost certainly believe Jesus loved his disciples (John 13:1). You may know to your core that Jesus loves the church and by that, we mean all who belong to Him (Eph 5:25). Mary and Martha knew Jesus loved their brother Lazarus (John 11:3).

But how easy or difficult is it for you to believe He loves you? Why?

Spend 10 minutes today thinking and journaling about God’s love for you.

What does God see when he sees you?

What does he want to say to the thoughts you’re thinking?

How does he want to be with you?

Leader Challenge: Text one student today letting them know that you love them and are praying for them today. Text out your prayer for them, allowing them to see what you are praying.
