Day 2: Baptism
Read Galatians 3:27.
David deSilva writes, “Paul explicitly reminds the Galatians about what happened to them, in some sense objectively, as they underwent the Christian rite of initiation. The symbolism of baptism by immersion, as it was no doubt most commonly practiced in the early church, is powerful indeed. Paul could liken it to the burial, such that one dies with Christ in baptism to the former life and its connections, and rises to a new life as one emerges from the water (Romans 6:1-14).
If you have been baptized, what was your experience like?
Leader Challenge: Today we are looking at baptism and the importance of baptism. Text your students letting them know that if they have questions about baptism or are interested in being baptized that you would love to talk more about it.
