DAY 4

Day 4: Rejecting Bondage

In Galatians 4:8-9 Paul reminds the Galatians of their former lives: they were enslaved to things “that by nature are not gods” (v 8). One of my favorite parts of this passage is in verse 9 when Paul corrects himself mid-sentence.

Read Galatians 4:9. Explain how Paul clarifies himself.

What are the two questions that Paul asks the Galatians in 4:9?

If God has made us sons, daughters and heirs through faith, and heirs in God’s family are now in the era of fullness, we have no business walking in the opposite direction of the Spirit.

What does it look like for you to walk in the freedom that Christ offers you?

Leader Challenge: Today, pray that your students would walk in Christ’s freedom.
